Welcome to Katha Dhara – 2013
About the event
What we will do
Here is a quick glance at what we will do
- Step 1: Create your team. Meet and collaborate with people you have never worked with before. Your team may include people from various backgrounds and children.
- Step 2: Create your story. Write a new story or base it on an existing tale or myth. The story can be in any Indian language. Translations of existing stories are also a great idea.
- Step 3: Bring your story to life. Use pictures, illustrations, puppets, put together a small performance, or do a storytelling.
- Step 4: Publish your story on The Kahani Project website. This will include recording the story, uploading it to the website and also publishing the web page of your story.
How will the stories be used
The Kahani Project is co-creating the largest open audio library of stories in Indian languages. All stories will be freely downloadable from our on-line library and will be available on The Kahani Project website. All stories are Creative Commons licensed for free downloading, sharing and non-commercial use. To read more about The Kahani Project visit our About Us page.
Any Prizes or Awards
Older participants will get The Kahani Project T-shirts (sizes S, L and M) and all children will get a set of books. No awards or prizes! The stories we create and share will be our prize and our gift to the community and to the world.
