A foreign merchant gets dazzled by the decorations and vibrant festivities in Delhi. A huge crowd has gathered for the celebration and everyone seems to be walking to the same destination. On inquiry, the merchant finds out that it was emperor Akbar’s birthday. However, he only comes to know the reason behind the jubilant atmosphere and people’s love for the emperor after he follows the crowd and reaches the Diwan-e-aam (the assembly of commons)!

About the illustrator
Vaibhav Kothare is a class 10 student living in Mumbai. He loves to sketch and paint in his free time. The cover for the story is an original illustration created by Vaibhav after listening to the story. Recently, he has learnt photography as well.
